new releases for week of 7/14/09. (noteworthy releases)
The Dead Weather; Horehound
Band members: Jack White, Jack Lawrence, Alison Mosshart, and Dean Fertita.
Mosshart sings alongside electric organ and hardcore bass with White going back to his roots by drumming and occasionally voicing a slightly different voice than we usually hear. ****
Check out The White Stripes, Raconteurs, and The Kills. (member's feature bands.)
Owl City; Ocean Eyes
From what i gather Owl City consists of one band member, Adam Young. Sounds a bit like Relient K, but with more electronic pop than rock. Check out iTunes free single of the week, Fireflies. Gives you a free taste and might get you to purchase the whole album. *
Crosby Loggins; Time to move
Most definitely pop sounding, with breezy vocals along the lines of Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. His first album even includes a song featuring John Mayer "Time to Move". The album is anything but fabulous, but as the first opening song would predict - it's "Good Enough". **
Check OUT!
